Warning Description: Special Weather Statement

Warning Date: 2:45 PM EDT on May 24, 2013

WarningSum:...Unseasonably Cold Conditions Tonight With Near Record Low 
Temperatures...

Warning Message:High pressure will build across the eastern United States...bringing 
unseasonably cold air into the southern appalachian region. Mostly 
clear skies and light winds will allow temperatures to fall fifteen 
to twenty degrees below normal tonight. In fact...low temperatures 
will approach or exceed record values for the 25th. With temperatures 
falling into the 30s in the valleys of southwest Virginia and 
northeast Tennessee...patchy frost may develop in these areas 
towards sunrise on Saturday morning. Sheltered valleys will be the 
most susceptible to frost formation late tonight.
